Monitoring of an embankment dam in southern Spain based on Sentinel-1 Time-series InSAR

چکیده
Abstract Deformation monitoring is a common practice in most of dams to ensure their structural health and safety status. Systematic frequently carried out by means geotechnical sensors geodetic techniques that, although very precise an accurate, can be time-consuming economically costly. Remote sensing are proved effective assessing deformation. Changes the structure, shell or associated infrastructures dams, including adjacent slopes, efficiently recorded using satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar Inteferometry (InSAR) techniques, particular, Muti-Temporal InSAR time-series analyses. This mature technology nowadays but not as routine procedure for dam monitoring. Today, thanks availability spaceborne satellites with high spatial resolution SAR images short revisit times, this powerful cost-effective way monitor millimeter-level displacements structure its surroundings. What more, potential technique increased since Copernicus C-band Sentinel-1 orbit, due time 6 days free data availability. ReMoDams Spanish research project devoted provide deformation several embankments advances techniques. One these The Arenoso dam, located province Cordova (southern Spain). has been monitored beginning mission 2014. In paper, we show processing 382 SLC both ascending descending tracks until March 2019. results indicate that main displacement period vertical direction rate order -1 cm/year central part body.

Internal erosion under spillway rested on an embankment dam
In this paper we investigate the mechanism of internal erosion caused in the right abutment of the Shahghasem dam’s spillway. Shahghasem dam is an earthen dam located in Yasouj, in southwest of Iran. A significant hole and pipe have been observed in the corner of the right abutment from upstream view. The foundation is Marlstone, which has low cohesion and susceptible for internal erosion and p...

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...
Seismic Behavior of Zoned Core Embankment Dam
The aim of this investigation is to study the dynamic behavior of a zoned core earth-fill dam. Due to lack of suitable clay materials, the Mamloo dam is designed as zoned core that is composed of three vertical zones including central lean clay (CL) core and two sides clayey gravel (GC) layers. Seismic behavior of dam was analyzed in two cases including homogenous clayey core and zoned core by ...
متن کاملEmbankment dam spillways and energy dissipators
For the last fifty years, the design floods of a number of embankment dams were re-evaluated and the revised spillway outflows are often larger than the original design discharges. Several embankment overtopping protection systems were developed for earthfill structures, and the applications range from river dykes to tsunami protections including embankment dams. Well-known designs include timb...
متن کاملForecasting embankment dam behaviour with artificial intelligence
Forecasting dam behaviour is of paramount importance to avoid collapses. It consists of detecting and controlling deterioration mechanisms. This paper sets out to propose a multi model methodology to model complex dynamic systems, such as dams. It defines three models based on expert knowledge: a structural model, a functional model and a behavioural model. They are developed from the stories o...
